Afton came to us from a local animal control when she was suspected to have been hit by a car. Her mouth was very swollen so the vet took x-rays to see if her jaw was broken. The x-ray revealed that she had a mouthful of broken teeth below her gum line. She had two dental surgeries to get all the broken teeth removed. Once she had her surgery, she was a different cat - extremely affectionate and happy to feel so much better! Her necessary expenses were around $2,000.
Afton is now very happy and lovey. She snuggles up next to her mama’s head every night and loves to play with her new 10-week old canine brother. Her favorite thing is to chase Da Bird feathers, and she will find the wand and feathers anywhere in the house and bring them to you. She sits on her mom’s desk while she works, and everyone on Zoom meetings loves her - until she walks across the keyboard and activates airplane mode!
This pretty girl loves to have her cheeks and chin scratched which seems to soothe her formerly painful areas. She's sweet and funny and has completely won over her cat dad. He'd never had a cat and didn't think he would find much joy with a one around, but Afton’s cat mom says, he is absolutely in love with her.
Thank you to Henrico Humane Society and donors like you for bringing a smile back to this sweet kitty’s face.
