Here are just a few stories about animals we’ve rescued and adopted to loving families, where they’re receiving the love and care they deserve!
Sleepy and her six siblings were rescued from a rural shelter when they were just 2 weeks old. Sleepy was born with only one eye, and was the tiniest in the litter, weighing less than 6 ounces when she was rescued. She was struggling to grow and had developed an infection in her eye. Her foster family bottle fed her and nursed her back to health. At about four months, she underwent surgery to clean out and permanently close her left eye socket. Unfortunately, due to complications with the first surgery, she had to undergone a second procedure. After a rough start to life, Sleepy found her happily ever after with a wonderful family.
Gentle giant, Bond, was dumped in a closed box on a volunteer’s doorstep this summer. She immediately took Bond into her home, where he instantly loved all her animals and little boy. He has never met a stranger. Soon after, she noticed he had a limp. After many trips to the vet, they finally figured ou, Bond had a dislocated tibiotarsal joint (ankle). Bond needed a fusion surgery to fix his leg, so he could walk without any pain. The surgery had to be through a specialist, and cost us about $3000. Bond has had his surgery and is now looking for his forever home!
Hope was found as a stray eating trash from a ditch on a rural road. She was anemic, dehydrated, suffered from mange and had several other health issues. She needed to be hospitalized for two days and all of her treatment cost over $1,000. After months of being nursed back to health by her foster parents, Hope was adopted to a family who loves her very much.
Millie was found as a stray and appeared to have been abandoned after having puppies. Poor little thing was skin and bones, full of milk and walked with a limp. Once we got her to the vet it was discovered she had a dislocated elbow and required surgery to insert a metal plate. Her recovery lasted over 2 months and the vet bills were over $ 3,000. Millie was adopted and is living with a wonderful family that gives her the love she deserves.
