Volunteering has gone to the dogs!
| Usually it's the PEOPLE who volunteer to benefit ANIMALS, but not in this case. Check out Sierra, the dog of volunteer Grace Long! Sierra is trying her best to collect donations to benefit her fellow furry friends who are waiting to find the kind of loving home she has. Shown here working the crowd at cat adoption stand held at Petsmart, she has become quite a star. So, if you care about animals but are not able to adopt or foster, please consider giving a donation to help support Henrico Humane Society! |

Arthritis Walk 2006
Henrico Humane Society Partners with the Arthritis Foundation On April 29, HHS volunteers manned the water stop at the 2006 Arthritis Walk. This walk is the Arthritis Foundation's annual nationwide event that raises awareness and funds to fight arthritis.
Unfortunately, arthritis affects animals as well as people. HHS sponsorship dogs King, Bobby, Baby and Dinah, all of whom suffer from arthritis, were on hand to lend their support to the hundreds of walkers that attended the event. HHS had a booth and volunteers talked to participants both before and after the walk about the organization and how it serves homeless animals in the Greater Richmond area. If you would like to make a donation to help our sponsored dogs and cats, click below.
Bingo
One of the many fundraisers, B-I-N-G-O! Henrico Humane Society Volunteers take part in running Bingo games at the Bingo Hall on Boulevard Ave. Proceeds go to the animals of course! Thanks to all the volunteers!

Silent Auction
HHS volunteers worked at the Silent Auction and Charity Exhibit organized by the Virginia State Corporation Commission on November 18. The event was held in conjunction with the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC). Several other non-profit groups attended as well, but none of them had puppies or kittens to show off! HHS was able to draw a big crowd and raise awareness for the organization, which participates in the CVC. pictured (left to right): Anne, Jon, Ali, Sarah and Mary Beth.
