Getting Started
- Contact The Henrico Humane Society's President

Let us know that you would like to organize a drive to collect dry and canned dog and cat
food, or other items found on our Wish List.
- Posters are available for a large box. Adding
colored wrapping paper or pictures of our animals will help to decorate the Food Drive
box.
- Brochures highlighting our programs are
available.
- Obtain approval from your employer, church, school or
club before starting a pet food drive. If you need assistance with a request letter,
please let us know.
- Place the pet food donation box in a central
location.
- Submit requests to your company, club or church to
include an announcement in their newsletters, or ask your school or employee to post the
information on their bulletin boards.
- Arrange for a photo of the volunteers and of the
donated items so they can be included in the company, church or club newsletters.
The Humane Society would like to recognize volunteers who assist in raising funds as well.
- When the drive is over, provide an estimate of the
amount of food donated. This information will be provided for inclusion in the HHS
newsletter as well as to the company, church, or club.
- Deliver the food to The Henrico Humane Society.
Please call to make arrangements for delivery or pick up of the donations.
- Obtain Listing including names
and addresses so we can recognize and acknowledge donors.
